Regulatory Advertising Fees
Regulatory Advertising Fees may be applied to your invoice when an ad is served in certain countries and/or when ads are purchased by advertisers in certain countries.

Beginning September 1, 2021, you may notice new Regulatory Advertising Fees included on your invoice. Regulatory Advertising Fees may be applied to your invoice when an ad is served in certain countries and/or for ads purchased by advertisers in certain countries, following the introduction of local Digital Services Taxes ('DST') and/or other regulations. These fees are added to your invoice subtotal.

Understanding Regulatory Advertising Fees on your invoice

Fees derive from ads serving in specific countries and/or for ads purchased from advertisers in specific countries during the period in which you are billed. These countries include: France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Austria, and Turkey. See DST rate per country

For example, if you are an US-based advertiser who purchased an ad, and your ad receives a click with a value of $1.00 from a customer located in a country with a DST rate of 3%, you would see a Regulatory Advertising Fee of $0.03 for that click.

If you are an advertiser with a business address in the United Kingdom or Turkey, you could see a Regulatory Advertising Fee calculated from your total invoice amount in addition to any Regulatory Advertising Fee from an ad served in a country where DST is enforced. For example, if you’re based in the United Kingdom and receive a click from a customer in Austria (which is a country that enforces DST), you’ll see a fee for the United Kingdom and a fee for Austria.

You can view your Regulatory Advertising Fees on your invoice PDFs as well as your web invoice, which can be found on the Billing page. Below is a sample of how these costs will be represented on your invoice:
